Nylon 6 Rod is absoluut ons meest populaire engineeringplastic. Het is een plastic geworden vanwege zijn veelzijdigheid en lijkt met bijna alles te werken. Er zijn in principe twee productieprocessen voor nylon 6 polen, extrusie en gieten. Zoals de naam al doet vermoeden, wordt extrusie gemaakt door het polymeer te verwarmen en door een cirkelvormige dobbelsteen te dwingen. En gegoten nylon 6 staven worden geproduceerd door het polymeer te smelten en het in een metalen buis te gieten met één uiteinde open aan de bovenkant.
